Cascading is a business development and advisory organization that supports leaders in designing and stewarding regenerative businesses—organizations that naturally create health, abundance, and value.

Cascading works with leaders who are ready to deepen their relationship with the natural wisdom and beauty of their places, while translating that inspiration and intelligence into strategic organizational action and, ultimately, the lived reality of regenerative businesses.

With more than a decade of experience across industries and geographies, we have supported leaders of pioneering organizations ranging from grassroots nonprofits and community initiatives to financial institutions and multinational companies—together co-creating a world where business is a force for life itself.

Carolina Fernández-Jansink

Founding Manager

Carolina is a creative, life-centered business strategist.
Her path over the past 25 years has been shaped through collaborations with generous teachers and pioneering movements, including Biomimicry, Companies as Living Systems, Regenerative Agriculture, Finance and Education, life-centered design, and Indigenous wisdom.

Alongside Cascading, she is a co-founding partner of DearWise.Earth and serves on the Advisory Boards of Savory Foundation, Campo Garzón, Universidad para la Cooperación Internacional, and Net Positive.
She holds an MSc in Business from Erasmus Rotterdam School of Management, a BSc from Tecnológico de Monterrey, and is Biomimicry Certified by Biomimicry 3.8.

She is also a professional dancer, wife, and mother of two boys. Together, they belong to and learn from the living places that hold them: the lush Appalachian Piedmont Forests and Caribbean Bioregion in the USA; the beautiful Sierra Madre Oriental in Mexico; and the peaceful West European Coastal Forests in the Netherlands.

Bowie Yin Sum Kung

Life-centered Communicator

Hong Kong native and descendant of the Tenka peoples and Zhejiang Han tribe, Bowie Yin Sum Kung is a regenerative writer, passionate environmental educator and activist, and tenacious composter.

She promotes composting and agroecology with various local organizations and institutions in Costa Rica.

At Cascading, Bowie is committed to centering Life in creating different forms of communication and relationships. In her work, she strives to reflect and connect deeply with Living systems, speaking to the Life in the reader.
Bowie holds a Certificate in Regenerative Entrepreneurship and a BA in International Relations from Mount Holyoke College, and is currently pursuing her MS in Climate Change and Development from SOAS University of London.
Bowie grew up on volcanic islands in the Jian Nan Subtropical Forests (now known as Hong Kong) and is now grateful to live in traditional Huetar territory and the Rio Toyogres watershed in the Isthmian forest of Costa Rica, with her partner, Juan, and a dog, Sultan.

Rebecca Barbara MacKinnon

Rebecca is a creative from Cape Town, South Africa, who is dedicated to purposeful endeavors in design, biomimicry, and regeneration. Kind and welcoming, she is committed to bringing intention and care to all aspects of her work.

Life-centered Researcher & Designer

At Cascading, Rebecca plays a vital role in planning, design implementation, and visual communication, infusing her projects with creativity and beauty. As a biomimicry professional and educator, Rebecca mentors aspiring professionals, manages communities, contributes to educational product development, and shares her expertise in systems-based biomimetic architecture design, advocating for living buildings that embrace biophilia and ecological performance standards.
Rebecca holds a MSc in Bio-inspired Innovation from Utrecht University, a BSc (Hons) in Marine Biology from the University of Cape Town, Design Thinking Certificate from Hasso-Plattner Institute of Design, and is a Biomimicry Practitioner (Biomimicry Academy Germany).
Rebecca is a sister to four and an aunt to two, and connects to Place through ocean swims and sunrise hikes. She is part of the Berg watershed and Cape Floristic Region.

Ing. Ramón Fernández Gallegos ☨

As a visionary business leader, creative, father, and engineer, he was one of the original inspirations for Cascading—living with the conviction that true abundance and lasting solutions lie within the intelligence of natural wisdom. The legacy of his vision and drive continues to guide Cascading’s journey.
